ABC Studios Recommendations for best Online Learning Using Zoom

  1. Download and install Zoom
  2. Register and create a profile (Better quality sound)
  3. Adjust settings in Zoom (see below)
  4. Turn on original sound (very important for Music!)
  5. Use headphones .
  6. Use Fibre Max for internet
  7. Use a laptop or desktop computer
  8. Use an ethernet cable
Download Zoom
Please download and update the Zoom Software:
First-time users should download the Zoom meeting software. It is called: Zoom Desktop Client'. There are versions for Phones and Tablets in the playstore. Use the most recent version.
Modern computers should use the 64-bit version. The Zoom developers are updating their software frequently. If you are using an older version of Zoom it may not work correctly. Joining Zoom from your browser is slow and results in poor-quality sound and video. We do not recommend using an ipad for music connections.
Internet: Fibre Max. We recommend Fibre Max for streaming video and audio to a high standard. Please check with data providers for the best rates. More...
Ethernet Cable: An ethernet cable delivers video and audio many times faster than wireless routers. This makes a significant difference to the quality of your video and music. More...
Headphones: Headphones help to avoid echo when playing music online. They also allow you to talk, sing and play your instrument further way from your computer.
Adjust Settings
Zoom Settings:
Audio Tab: Tick the boxes marked:
  • Show in-meeting option to "Turn On Original Sound"
  • 'High fidelity music mode'
  • Echo cancellation
  • Stereo audio
  • Automatically join audio by computer when joining a meeting'.
Click on 'Advanced '
Select Signal processing by Windows audio device drivers to 'Off' (Windows).
Echo cancellation to 'Auto'.
After clicking these buttons your Meeting Window should read "Original Sound: On". (Highlighted in Yellow.
Video Tab: 16:9 (Widescreen) Enable HD:
